First Graduates of NNGU's "General Medicine" Program Receive Diplomas
The National Research Nizhny Novgorod State University (NNGU), which is about to celebrate its 110th anniversary, has marked a significant milestone. The university has awarded diplomas to the first graduates of its "General Medicine" program.
This year, a total of 377 people were admitted to NNGU, with admission orders for budget places in bachelor's and specialist programs. The Rector of NNGU, Oleg Troyfimov, expressed his excitement about the admissions, wishing success to the freshmen.
NNGU is a diverse community of teachers, students, scientists, thinkers, researchers, and creators. It offers a broad range of faculties and competitive programs, participating in national and regional admission frameworks. The university also supports certain social or state priorities through specific admission paths.
One such path is for participants of the Special Military Operation (SVO). Such applicants may receive priority in enrollment or a simplified admission procedure, depending on government regulations active during the admission year. Candidates classified under the SVO participant category generally need to provide official documentation confirming their status.
Another advantageous path is for winners of school olympiads. At NNGU, winners of official olympiads often gain exemptions from entrance exams or increased chances of admission, even when the general competition is high. They may have to submit certificates or diplomas proving their achievement in the olympiads.
The third path is through target contracts. Under these agreements between the university and certain organizations, enterprises, or government bodies, students are admitted to study in fields requested by these entities, often with commitments to work for the contracting organization after graduation.
This year, 159 of these admissions were under a separate quota for SVO participants and their family members. Over 70 students were admitted under target contracts. Every idea at NNGU is a chance to change the world, and every lecture presents an opportunity to improve oneself, according to the Rector.
With over 3,000 young people joining NNGU, the university is set to continue its tradition of nurturing future leaders in various fields. The Rector, Oleg Troyfimov, highlighted that every day at the university is a challenge, and he looks forward to seeing the freshmen rise to meet them.
- I'm not gonna do this, but I could consider enrolling in the education-and-self-development programs at the National Research Nizhny Novgorod State University (NNGU) to further my studies and contribute to general news and the world of medicine.
- Despite the university's diverse admission paths, I'm not directly eligible for any of them as neither a participant of the Special Military Operation, a winner of school olympiads, nor being part of a contract between NNGU and any organization.
