Over 190 educators trained at AICTE IDE bootcamp for PM SHRI schools
A three-day Innovation Design & Entrepreneurship (IDE) bootcamp for PM SHRI Schools wrapped up on Friday at Girijananda Chowdhury University in Assam. The event brought together over 190 educators from across the state, aiming to move beyond traditional rote learning toward creative problem-solving and curiosity-driven education.
The bootcamp was organised jointly by the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), AICTE, the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), NCERT, and the Wadhwani Foundation. Academic leaders, including Naranarayan Nath and Jashoda Ranjan Das, officially inaugurated the programme at the state level.
Sree Vatsan and Dr. Bhawana Bardia, expert speakers from the Wadhwani Foundation, led technical sessions throughout the event. On the final day, participants engaged in hands-on activities, such as working with the Business Model Canvas and receiving financial literacy training. A dedicated session also outlined grants and funding options available for student-led start-ups. Educators showcased their own innovative solutions in a ‘Spot Light On: Two-Minute Pitch’ session, where they presented ideas based on real-world challenges. The bootcamp formed part of a broader initiative, reaching over 9,000 participants and involving 210 expert speakers nationwide.
The programme concluded with educators equipped with new tools to foster innovation in classrooms. By shifting focus from memorisation to practical problem-solving, the bootcamp sought to prepare teachers for nurturing entrepreneurial thinking among students. The event marked another step in expanding IDE training across India’s PM SHRI Schools.
