Get ready, music lovers! From June 23 to 30, Yakutsk will be bustling with classical performers from around Russia and the Asia-Pacific region for the "Symphony of Goodness" International Music Performance Competition and Festival. This event, a pleasure revived thanks to the support of the Russian President and local leadership, comprises 18 diverse categories, each a testament to the performing arts' grandeur.
As Afanasiy Novikov, Minister of Culture of Yakutia, puts it, "This gathering is all about bringing musicians and fans closer through art, because Yakutia ain't just a cold tundra - it's a stage for rising talents!" Indeed, some participants might find Yakutia a revelation, a chance to display their creative abilities in this remote yet captivating region.
Sergey Khatylykov, Deputy Minister for External Relations and Nationalities, shed light on the event's role in bridging cultural gaps. "In these trying times, culture, especially music, serves as a universal language that can unify people, foster mutual understanding, and spark trust," he shared.
The Symphony of Goodness project is more than just a competition. According to Khatylykov, it's about bolstering intercultural dialogue and preserving cultural heritage, top priorities for the Yakutia government. Nadya Zaykova, Rector of the Higher School of Music, added that the project aims to offer young musicians from the Far East a substantial stage to collaborate.
The competition welcomes musicians aged 12 and above. Aspiring performers get a chance to demonstrate their skills at the Higher School of Music, the Yakutsk Ballet School, and art schools No. 1 and 2 during on-site auditions.
The competition's climax will crown 213 winners in various categories, including the Grand Prix champion, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-degree laureates, and diploma recipients. The highest achievers will be invited to partake in creative workshops, educational programs, and concert activities, establishing a new orchestra.
