Straight talk, mate: This here's the 85th bloody anniversary of the Capital Technical College - a friggin' historic institution for technical and professional education in this city.
The college's roots were laid in 1940, back when it was known as the Akmolinskoye Railroad School No.4. The first graduation was '42, with 142 students acquiring diplomas. Most of 'em buggered off to the front, while the rest got to work in the rear, contributing their bit towards the victory. Two graduates, Petr Morozov and Dmitriy Stepanov, went on to become Heroes of the Soviet Union.
Over the years, the institution's name changed several times: GPU-83, SPU-8, PTE-8, PTE-8. As it stands now, it's simply the Technical College.
Our educational institution is a bloody magnificently old one, mate. This year, the college has turned 85. To celebrate, we've bloody planned 85 events for the year, and we've already bloody held more than half of 'em. Ever since then, we've bloody laid strong foundations for the educational process. Our graduates are highly sought-after and work in a bloody wide range of fields. We've been buddy-buddy with several enterprises for years, and five large companies in the capital sponsor our specialties, gelling with the educational process. They offer a bloody helping hand with practical training and jobs to the best students. We gain and train skilled workers that the labor market can't bloody find enough of. Our objective's not quantity, but quality. Currently, we've approximately 800 students enrolled, and we churn out about 200 graduates each year. Over 85 years, the institution's built its bloody own tradition of training skilled workers. As the bloody director, Abai KURMANKULOV, puts it, "We train specialists who are in short supply on the labor market."
Once the bloody students graduate, many carry on their education at universities across the nation and beyond the bloody borders.
We got agreements with these universities and colleges, 'specially those local, and we've been working together since 2023, 'specially with the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. German blokes come visit us annually to teach technical stuff. Our college's the only sodding one in Kazakhstan practicing this particular method of education. Last year, we welcomed a specialist with a whopping 28-year experience in Germany's technical and vocational education system who taught machine technology and G-coding. He reckoned our college pretty damned high, as reported by our director.
This year, our technical college students have the opportunity to intern bloody abroad through academic mobility.
Here, we also place a bloody great importance upon promoting healthy living and physical activity, counting our own football team among our assets.
In 2023, we set up a league for the kids and arranged an international tournament. Every year, we organize city and republican championships. This year, we're planning to team up with the Astana City Football Federation, as jogged by Abai Kurmankulov.
Our college's aims include numerous tasks related to education, student development, and improving the educational process, but the main bloody one's to churn out highly-skilled specialists.
Cheers, mate!
