Okhotsky District's only children's art school gets a 22M-ruble modern makeover
The only children's art school in Okhotsky District is set for a major two-year renovation. The project, costing 22 million rubles, will transform the building into a modern, safe, and fully compliant educational space.
Work will take place during the warm season to avoid disrupting classes for the 65–70 children who attend the school each year. The renovation covers nearly every part of the building, from structural elements to utility systems.
The interior will receive a full upgrade, including new flooring, retiled walls, refreshed ceilings, and advanced lighting. Outside, all windows will be replaced, and the main entrance area will be completely redesigned. Utility networks—such as electrical, heating, ventilation, and plumbing—will also be modernised to meet current standards. This project is part of Russia's *Family* national initiative, which modernised 319 children's art schools in 2025. By 2030, up to 1,500 such centres are planned across various regions.
Once complete, the school will offer a comfortable and up-to-date learning environment. The upgrades ensure full compliance with regulations while providing better facilities for students. The renovation reflects broader efforts to improve educational spaces under the national project.
