NSU Spring Orientation 2026 Inspires Future Scholars with Leadership and Ethics

North South University (NSU) held its Spring Orientation 2026 on Saturday at the NSU Plaza. The event welcomed new students and celebrated academic achievements, including scholarships for 68 recipients. University leaders and distinguished guests shared advice and encouragement with the incoming class.

The programme began with a welcome address from MA Kashem, a former chairman of the Board of Trustees. He urged students to aim high, calling them the future leaders of tomorrow. His speech emphasised determination and ambition as key to success.

Benajir Ahmed, another former chairman of the Board of Trustees, spoke next. He described NSU as a place where students learn to dream big, lead with purpose, and contribute to society. His remarks highlighted the university’s role in shaping responsible and forward-thinking graduates. Khalilur Rahman, National Security Adviser and High Representative for the Rohingya Issue, attended as the chief guest. He encouraged students to challenge the status quo, think creatively, and persist even when faced with rejection. His message focused on resilience and innovation. Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, vice-chancellor of NSU, chaired the session. He stressed the importance of becoming good human beings and fulfilling civic responsibilities. His speech reminded students that academic success must go hand in hand with ethical values. Aziz Al Kaiser, chairman of the Board of Trustees, also attended as a special guest. The event concluded with the announcement of 68 scholarships, including 23 full 100 percent merit awards for outstanding students.

The Spring Orientation 2026 brought together students, faculty, and distinguished figures to mark the start of the academic term. With scholarships awarded and motivational speeches delivered, the event set a tone of ambition and responsibility for the new intake. The university’s focus on leadership, ethics, and innovation was clear throughout the programme.
