Northcoders Earns 'Outstanding' OFSTED Rating Despite Revenue Dip
Northcoders, a leading tech training provider, has received an 'Outstanding' rating from OFSTED for its training operations. Despite a dip in revenue and gross profit, the company's gross margin remained steady at 67%.
The company's consultancy arm, Counter, contributed to growth through expanded contracts. However, revenue for the first six months of 2025 was £3.7 million, down from £4.4 million in the same period last year. Gross profit for the same period was £2.5 million, a decrease from £2.9 million in 2024.
Northcoders also launched a fully privately funded Next Gen Data & AI course during this period. The company secured 24 seats under the Lancashire Skills Bootcamp scheme, demonstrating its commitment to upskilling the local workforce. Despite government funding for bootcamps being unpredictable, Northcoders managed to secure this significant number of seats.
Charlotte Prior, the current CFO of Northcoders, will step down in April 2026 for personal reasons. She will be succeeded by Maria Lopez. Despite the challenges faced, Northcoders' outstanding OFSTED rating and steady gross margin indicate a resilient and robust business model.
