North Eastern educators trained in digital teaching at KKHSOU workshop

A five-day workshop on digital teaching skills recently took place at Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) in Guwahati. The event focused on training educators in e-content creation for platforms like DIKSHA and PM e-Vidya. A total of 49 teachers and teacher educators from five North Eastern states participated.

The workshop, titled 'e-Content Development for Teachers and Teacher Educators', was organised by the Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), NCERT, in partnership with KKHSOU. Over the five days, experts from CIET-NCERT led 20 sessions. These covered scripting, audio-visual production, hands-on video editing, and instructional design.

The programme aimed to strengthen digital pedagogy among educators. Participants learned how to develop high-quality e-learning materials for national education platforms. On the final day, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajendra Prasad Das chaired the closing session.

Prof. Das encouraged attendees to use their new skills in their own institutions. Dr. Indrani Kalita then delivered the vote of thanks, marking the end of the workshop.

The training equipped 49 educators with practical tools for creating digital learning resources. These skills are expected to support teaching across the North Eastern region. The workshop concluded with a call to apply the knowledge in schools and universities.
