Nizhny Novgorod Families Celebrate Diversity in New Photo Contest

The Civil Registry Office (ZAGS) of Nizhny Novgorod Region has launched a photo contest titled Family: A World of Cultural Unity. The event is part of Russia's Year of National Unity and invites families from the region to share their multicultural stories. Participants must include members of different nationalities to qualify for entry.

The contest opened on 20 March and will accept submissions until 20 July 2026. Families can enter by submitting a photograph alongside a written description of their traditions, relationships, or cultural heritage. Entries can be dropped off at any ZAGS office in Nizhny Novgorod Region or at the main branch, located at 603950, Kozhevennaya St., 1a.

The contest aims to highlight the region's rich cultural mix through personal family stories. Winning entries will be selected based on creativity and the strength of their cultural narratives. Organisers have encouraged all eligible families to take part before the July deadline.
