Newly Renovated Library Becomes a Cultural Hub with Record Opening Day

A newly renovated library opened in December 2025, quickly becoming the cultural heart of the district. On its first day, over 150 visitors explored the updated spaces, with activities tailored for all ages. The event highlighted the community's strong interest in knowledge and local history.

The opening day featured a variety of programmes. Younger children took part in a quiz about fairy tales and cartoons, while older students toured the modernised facilities. Preschoolers and their parents also joined an interactive exploration of the library's spaces.

Special attention was given to students from School No. 5, who attended a media tour focused on Melnikov Street and their neighbourhood's history. Alongside the activities, an exhibition marked the anniversary of the Lifting of the Siege of Leningrad, adding a historical dimension to the day.

Eleven visitors received a unified reader's card, encouraging long-term engagement. District head Alexander Nagin noted that Avtozavodsky District already hosts 12 municipal libraries, which collectively welcome over 600,000 visitors annually. He expressed confidence that this new model library would draw even more readers in the future.

The library's launch reflects the district's commitment to culture and education. With tailored activities for different age groups and a focus on local history, it aims to serve as a vibrant community hub. The high turnout on opening day suggests strong public interest in its offerings.
