New Puffin Rock Wildlife Book Brings Nature to Classrooms and Homes
A new Puffin Rock Wildlife Activity Book has launched, designed to spark curiosity about nature among children, parents, and teachers. The book ties into the Irish primary school curriculum and is now available in both English and Irish. It arrives alongside a touring exhibition and fresh episodes of the beloved animated series.
Puffin Rock is a multi-award-winning preschool show that has expanded into films, books, and now educational resources. The latest Wildlife Activity Book covers subjects like Science, Geography, Maths, English, Art, and Music, making it a flexible tool for classrooms.
The initiative also includes a travelling exhibition led by characters Oona and Baba. It highlights the island's rich plant and animal life and will run at the Mermaid Arts Centre in Bray, Co Wicklow, from October to December. For more hands-on learning, the *Puffin Rock Habitats* website provides workshops, nature walk guides, and downloadable materials. Teachers can also access additional resources through the Heritage Council's *Heritage in Schools* programme. Meanwhile, all three series of *Puffin Rock*—including the brand-new third season—are currently streaming on RTÉ Player.
The updated activity book, exhibition, and online resources aim to deepen engagement with biodiversity. Schools and families can explore the materials in both English and Irish, while new episodes of the show remain available to stream. The project links entertainment with education, offering practical ways to learn about nature.
