New Online RN to BSN Program Helps Nurses Advance Their Careers Without Quitting Jobs
A growing number of registered nurses now hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) as healthcare standards evolve. Employers increasingly expect this qualification, which is also linked to better patient care. Our university has launched an online RN to BSN program to help working nurses advance their health careers without leaving their jobs.
The program is designed for licensed registered nurses who want to earn a BSN while continuing to work. It offers fully online coursework with clinical components that fit into professional schedules. Students can transfer up to 96 credits, including 40 from ACEN-accredited associate degree programs, reducing the time needed to complete the degree.
The curriculum requires just 27 credit hours in the nursing major, focusing on leadership, research literacy, and population health. These areas prepare nurses for higher-level roles in healthcare management, where a BSN is often required or preferred. Graduate nursing programs also typically demand this credential for entry.
Accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the program meets national standards and is recognised by employers and graduate schools. Multiple start dates and federal financial aid options make it more accessible. Nurses who earn a BSN often gain expanded responsibilities, better career prospects, and higher salaries.
Research shows that BSN-prepared nurses contribute to improved patient outcomes, including lower mortality rates and stronger quality indicators. This has led to rising demand for nurses with this qualification across the healthcare sector.
The university's RN to BSN program provides a flexible path for nurses to meet industry expectations and enhance their skills. With transfer-friendly policies and online learning, it supports career growth while maintaining professional commitments. Graduates can pursue advanced roles and further education with a widely recognised qualification.
