Neuwied welcomes 20 new youth leaders after intensive training program
Twenty new youth leaders have completed their training in Neuwied, organised by AWO Youth Services and the city's Office for Children and Youth. The programme aimed to equip participants with essential skills for working with young people. Organisers celebrated the high number of trainees and their readiness to engage with local children and teenagers.
The training combined theory with practical experience. Participants studied pedagogical, psychological, and legal aspects of youth work. They also learned how to lead games and design educational activities.
After the classroom sessions, trainees put their knowledge into action. Under supervision, they ran dynamic workshops at the Big House youth centre. A trial programme with elementary school children gave them firsthand experience in engaging young minds.
Esther Bitterling-Jungbluth and Svetlana Günther praised the strong turnout and enthusiasm. They highlighted the importance of fresh talent in supporting Neuwied's youth services. While exact figures on participation at certified centres like the Big House over the past five years remain unavailable, the new leaders are now prepared to contribute to local programmes.
The newly qualified youth leaders will begin working with children and teenagers in Neuwied. Their training ensures they are ready to take on responsibilities in local kids activities. The initiative strengthens the city's commitment to providing structured support for young people.
