NEAS Welcomes Andrew Parker as New Chair
NEAS Australia has named Andrew Parker as its new Chair, succeeding Professor Tanya Buchanan. The appointment comes into effect at the organisation's Annual General Meeting in November.
Parker brings a wealth of international experience, having worked in Australia, London, Moscow, Jakarta, and Singapore over three decades. He has served on several advisory boards, including the Australia-Indonesia Centre at Monash University and the Asia Society of Australia.
Before joining NEAS, Parker held the position of Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner for NSW in ASEAN, based in Singapore. He expressed his honour in being appointed Chair, highlighting the importance of international education in fostering global connections.
The Board thanked outgoing Chair Professor Tanya Buchanan for her courageous and diligent leadership, particularly during challenging times. Buchanan positioned NEAS as an adaptable, future-focused organisation during her tenure. With Parker at the helm, NEAS is poised to continue advancing its mission of quality assurance and strengthening its role in the international education sector.
