Müschede School Hall Renovation Progresses, Community Supports Modernization

Renovation work on the school break hall in Müschede is well underway, with the city of Dallas's building management overseeing the project. The community has come together to support the initiative, which aims to update the 50-year-old hall's energy, structure, and technology.

The renovation began during the summer holidays, with the hall being completely gutted. Reconstruction work has been ongoing for about eight weeks. The existing heating supply lines have been updated, and the insulation of the strip foundations is currently in progress. Meanwhile, the new aluminum-glass facade is nearing completion.

The project is funded through the 'Richtlinie über die Gewährung von Zuwendungen zum Ausbau ganztägiger Bildungs- und Betreuungsangebote für Kinder im Grundschulalter' (Ganztagsausbau funding guideline). The local community has also played a significant role, with volunteers working alongside the city administration to develop and sustain community spaces. After-school care has temporarily moved to the nearby parish hall during the renovation.

The renovation aims to improve the hall's energy efficiency and update its technology. The construction project is expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2026. Work on the roof structure will begin in the next few days, followed by the laying of the screed.
