In the heart of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Mountaineer Accelerator, a startup support programme by Solingen.Business, held its seventh Demo Day at the Old Machine Hall. Over six months, seven founders were intensively supported in developing their business ideas to market readiness.

The event was kicked off with a virtual greeting from David Stephenson from the NRW Ministry of Economics (MWIKE). He provided insights into the startup ecosystem of North Rhine-Westphalia and presented various funding opportunities for founders. For 2025, Stephenson announced stronger support for Female Founder Programs and the expansion of scientific monitoring initiatives.

The Demo Day featured presentations of innovative ideas and business models from these seven startups. Sandra-Janine Schneider of Die Wegfinder - Puzzle Adventures captivated the audience with a different approach, offering escape room adventures in nature. Anna Köönig presented Memomeals, a platform for playful cooking experiences at home.

Vintus focused on sustainable product designs, while André Weihnold of Virtofy presented an interactive solution for 3D content in virtual reality. Supplement Words showcased an AI-driven software for personalized dietary supplement recommendations.

Christian Senfleben of Wellenpuls demonstrated an innovative belt for effective relief of back pain, and Julian Nadolski of Syntec DTx showcased Traumavita, a digital health solution for mental illnesses. Sascha Dennis Blömer of Logic Studios presented a solution that automates administrative tasks, and Sophia Oster of The diyary offered craft boxes for creativity and shared experiences.

Lastly, esportmanager.com presented tailored team-building events and networking opportunities in the e-sports sector. The Demo Day highlighted the vibrancy and dynamism of the startup ecosystem in Solingen and North Rhine-Westphalia, offering a glimpse into the promising future of innovation in the region.

Elsewhere in Solingen, the Startup Unconference held in September intensified exchange among regional actors, further boosting the local startup scene. The Demo Day provided an opportunity for these participants to present their innovations to a larger audience, marking a significant milestone in their entrepreneurial journeys.

Finance in the startup ecosystem of North Rhine-Westphalia is being bolstered with stronger support for Female Founder Programs and the expansion of scientific monitoring initiatives, as announced by David Stephenson from the NRW Ministry of Economics (MWIKE).

The diverse range of startups showcased at the Mountaineer Accelerator's Demo Day, such as Vintus focusing on sustainable technology and Supplement Words utilizing AI in business, underscores the importance of education-and-self-development in driving innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.
