MindQuest Launches: Minecraft for Mental Health Support
Creative Active Lives CIC, in collaboration with various partners, has launched MindQuest, an innovative Minecraft Education world designed to support neurodivergent and traumatized children. This project integrates wellbeing questionnaires into the popular game environment, aiming to enhance mental health and wellbeing support for kids.
The MindQuest prototype was initially developed by Rachel Conlisk and her daughter, a computer science student. The concept emerged in the West Midlands following a Sandwell Council of Voluntary Organisations Vision 2030 Fund grant for Minecraft Education sessions.
The project is currently being developed with Minecraft education consultant Dan Noble and Ellie Finch, founder of PlayMode Academy. While the specific organisation Creative Active Lives CIC is collaborating with for MindQuest development is not mentioned, visiting their official website or inquiring directly may provide the latest information.
MindQuest, funded by a WCIT Charity grant, is set to provide a unique, engaging platform for mental health and wellbeing support among children. By integrating wellbeing questionnaires into the Minecraft environment, it promises to make a significant impact on the lives of neurodivergent and traumatized kids.
