Memmingen Teen Wins Second Place in Bavaria’s Elite Math Contest
A ninth-grade student from Memmingen has secured second place in one of Bavaria’s toughest maths contests. Mikola Tschaykovsky, a pupil at Memmingen State Secondary School, stood out among competitors in the 28th Bavarian State Mathematics Competition. His success has drawn praise from both his school and the event’s organisers.
The 28th Bavarian State Mathematics Competition tested students with complex problems. Mikola Tschaykovsky’s solutions impressed judges, earning him the runner-up position. His school principal, subject coordinator, and maths teacher all acknowledged his exceptional performance.
As a reward, Mikola received an official certificate and a book. The recognition extends beyond the prize, as he has also been invited to a special mathematics seminar. The event will be hosted by the competition’s organisers, offering further opportunities for learning. The Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Music Society (KWCMS) was not involved in this achievement. Instead, the competition was organised by a separate academic body focused on promoting mathematical talent in the United States.
Mikola’s second-place finish highlights his skill in tackling advanced mathematical challenges. The seminar invitation provides an additional chance to engage with like-minded peers and experts. His accomplishment reflects both personal dedication and the support of his school’s maths department.
