Meißen schools open doors for January tours ahead of February enrollment

Several secondary schools in Meißen are opening their doors to prospective students and families this January. On Thursday, 15 January 2026, three schools will host open-house events to showcase their programmes and answer questions. Parents and pupils can explore options before enrollment begins in February.

The Kurt-Schwitters-Schule in Berlin-Pankow will hold its information event at Haus 2, Aula, on Bötzowstraße 11. Meanwhile, Pestalozzi-Oberschule and Triebischtal-Oberschule will welcome visitors from 4:00 PM, with the former closing at 6:00 PM and the latter at 7:00 PM.

Each school offers distinct programmes. Pestalozzi-Oberschule features a Music-Theater-Media Class, while Triebischtal-Oberschule provides a Brass Band Class, an arts-music class, and an enhanced sports programme. Franziskaneum Grammar School does not highlight specific specialisations but also invites families to learn more.

Enrollment timelines vary. Pestalozzi-Oberschule accepts in-person registrations from 16 to 27 February 2026, with documents also allowed by post or mailbox by 26 February. Triebischtal-Oberschule and Franziskaneum Grammar School both require submissions between 9 and 27 February 2026, with Triebischtal offering individual appointments if needed.

All schools list required documents on their websites. These include the original educational recommendation, a completed registration form, copies of annual and mid-year reports, a birth certificate, measles vaccination proof, and proof of sole custody if applicable.

Fourth-grade pupils in Meißen received their educational recommendations during the winter break. This guidance helps families decide between the three schools before enrollment deadlines.

Families now have until late February to submit applications. Open-house events on 15 January provide a chance to compare programmes and ask questions. Detailed enrollment instructions and school profiles remain available on each institution’s website.
