Math Conference 2023: Future Teaching Methods for Sustainability and Tech Integration

On September 25, 2023, Technische Universität Braunschweig hosts a mathematics conference, 'Mathematics for the School of Tomorrow'. The event, accredited as a full-day training course, aims to equip teachers with future-oriented teaching methods. It is organized by the Institute for Didactics of Mathematics and Elementary Mathematics and the ISTRON group, focusing on reality-based mathematics teaching.

The conference kicks off with Professor Matthias Ludwig's keynote, 'Doing mathematics outdoors', exploring ways to integrate out-of-classroom experiences into daily school life. Later, Professor Hans-Stefan Siller will delve into 'Mathematics for tomorrow: Connecting modeling, AI, and sustainability in the classroom'.

In between, Professor Dr. Raphael Pfaff presents 'Nobody wants to work anymore? Future security through automation', discussing the future security of work through automation. The conference also features practical workshops, providing teachers with hands-on ideas based on the keynote topics. The event is carried out by the Lower Saxony Learning Center (NLC) and the Competence Center for Teacher Training (KLBS), with Professor Katrin Vorhoelter, the managing director of the Institute, emphasizing the need for innovative didactics that integrate technology and sustainability.

The Mathematics for the School of Tomorrow conference at Technische Universität Braunschweig offers teachers a wealth of ideas for future-oriented mathematics teaching. With a focus on sustainability, technology integration, and out-of-classroom experiences, the event promises to inspire and equip educators for the challenges ahead.
