Master Filmmaking with Legendary Directors in This New Online Programme
A new online learning platform is offering expert-led courses for aspiring filmmakers and writers on online course platforms. The programme includes live webinars, on-demand lessons, and in-depth analysis of film techniques from legendary directors.
The first courses begin in early March 2026, covering screenwriting, documentary filmmaking, and short film production.
The platform's schedule kicks off on 5 March 2026 with Documentary Film Writing, taught by Bryan Young. This four-week course runs until 2 April 2026, focusing on research, structure, and storytelling for non-fiction films.
Later in the month, Rebecca Norris Resnick leads Writing and Producing the Short Film, starting 26 March 2026 and ending 23 April 2026. The intensive course guides students through scripting, budgeting, and production for short-form projects.
The longest offering, Watching Movies: Learn from the Masters and Become a Better Writer, also taught by Bryan Young, begins 12 March 2026 and concludes 21 May 2026. The syllabus dissects techniques from directors like Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Stanley Kubrick, and Christopher Nolan, using their films as case studies for narrative and visual storytelling.
Beyond structured courses, the platform provides monthly webinars and a library of on-demand content. Each session is designed to give learners direct access to industry professionals and practical filmmaking skills.
The courses run from March to May 2026, with enrolment open for all three programmes. Students will study under experienced instructors while analysing works from some of cinema's most influential directors. The platform aims to bridge the gap between theory and hands-on filmmaking practice.
