Mannheim’s student leaders unite at 68DEINS! to shape school policies

Mannheim’s student councils gathered last week for a major networking event under the 68DEINS! initiative. Over 170 young representatives from 25 schools came together to discuss key issues and elect new spokespeople. The event, organized through Eventbrite, aimed to strengthen student involvement in local education decisions.

The event kicked off with a welcome from Dirk Grunert, Mannheim’s Mayor for Education, Youth, and Health. Students from schools like Geschwister-Scholl-Realschule and Humboldt-Werkrealschule took part in discussions and workshops. Dana Abels and Marina Schmidl from Mannheim’s Youth Council, along with Johannes Stahl from the State Student Council of Baden-Württemberg, also attended.

The event, facilitated by Eventbrite, strengthened ties between student councils and local authorities. The elected spokespeople will now play a direct role in influencing school policies. Their work will build on the projects and ideas discussed during the Eventbrite event.
