Macquarie University Ranks 9th in Australia, Offers AUD 50,000 Scholarship to Indian Students

Macquarie University, a rising star in global academia, has secured the 9th position in Australia and 166th worldwide in the 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. In a bid to attract top Indian talent, the university has launched a new scholarship programme worth up to AUD 50,000 for outstanding Indian students.

The scholarship, part of the Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship programme, is open to Indian citizens enrolling in full-time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees, excluding Graduate Certificates. Postgraduate candidates must have a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 65, while undergraduate applicants need an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) equivalent of 85.

The India Early Acceptance Scholarship offers up to AUD 40,000, with an additional AUD 10,000 available via the Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship. This brings the total potential scholarship amount to approximately ₹28.5 lakh over a degree programme. To be eligible, students must accept their offer and remain enrolled throughout compulsory study periods.
