Engaging in a Reading Session with Chantal Flower Sandjon

Listening to Chantal Flower Sandjon as She Reads

On Thursday, September 25th, at 5 p.m., the Landshut City Library will host a special event featuring the acclaimed author Chantal-Fleur Sandjon. This reading is connected to Sandjon's latest novel, "City of Trees," a poetic, accessible, and authentic coming-of-age story.

Sandjon, who is not only an author but also a spoken-word performer and literary mediator, will present her current book at the library. "City of Trees" addresses young people but also opens up new perspectives on themes like departure, self-discovery, and friendship for adults.

The Landshut Youth Reading Club was involved in the decision for the award of Sandjon's previous novel, "The Sun So Radiant and Black," which won the German Youth Literature Prize in 2023. This novel, which gained Sandjon nationwide attention, deals with themes of identity and diversity. It was multiply awarded and enthusiastically received by the youth jury of the German Youth Literature Prize.

The reading event is part of the project "KulturLabs on KulturMaps. On the move in the Landshut region." This project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research within the framework of "Culture makes strong" and the Federal Association for Cultural Children and Youth Work, aims to promote cultural exchange and engagement in the region.

The event will take place at the Landshut City Library, which offers free entrance for children and young people, while adults will pay an entrance fee of three euros. The reading is expected to last approximately one and a half hours.

Registration for the event is desired through the website medienportal.our website. This visit to the Landshut City Library is in collaboration with the neighborhood center DOM. The project duration is not specified in this paragraph.

We look forward to welcoming Chantal-Fleur Sandjon to Landshut and invite you to join us for an evening of inspiring literature and discussion.
