Kyiv Polytechnic Launches Cutting-Edge AI Lab for Future Tech Leaders
A new high-tech laboratory, DRL AI Space, has opened at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. This facility provides students with advanced tools for working with artificial intelligence. The project was made possible through support from DataRoot Labs and the non-profit organisation UFTM.
The DRL AI Space laboratory is now operational at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics. It features 17 modern workstations designed for data analysis, complex calculations, and AI-driven modelling of physical processes. Students will gain practical experience using cutting-edge AI tools in a real-world setting.
The initiative was backed by DataRoot Labs, a full-cycle AI research and development centre, and UFTM (Ukraine Future Tech Minds), which focuses on strengthening technical education in Ukraine. Their collaboration helped establish the lab as a hub for innovation within the university. New laboratory courses are being developed to complement the facility. These will allow students to apply AI techniques directly in their studies. The launch of DRL AI Space also enhances the university’s broader innovation ecosystem, reinforcing its role in advancing technical research and education.
The laboratory will serve as a central space for integrating AI into physics and mathematics education. Students now have access to high-performance equipment for research and practical training. The project marks a step forward in preparing the next generation of specialists in AI and technical fields.
