Krasnodar’s youth transform cities with vibrant street art festival
A recent initiative, part of the national Youth and Children project and the federal Russia – Land of Opportunity, saw over a thousand young people aged 14 to 35 from various cities and regions in Krasnodar Region participate in a street art festival. The project was implemented under the Region for Youth program, instructed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The festival, held under the guidance of Roman Dmitriev, acting head of Krasnodar Region’s Youth Policy Department, engaged young people with urban spaces through creative workshops. These workshops culminated in vibrant street art murals, each telling a story about people, the current time, and the transformative power of youth energy. The murals were painted on building facades in each participating community.
The festival also showcased various elements of street culture, including graffiti, breakdancing, hip-hop, DJing, customization, and trash art. This diverse display of creativity and self-expression highlighted the potential of young people to transform their communities and urban spaces.
The street art initiative, supported by the Youth and Children and Region for Youth projects, successfully engaged and empowered young people across Krasnodar Region. The resulting murals not only brightened cityscapes but also served as a testament to the creative potential and unity of the region's youth.
