Krasnodar Krai sees 1.5x surge in state-backed student loans for 2025

Sberbank in Krasnodar Krai has reported a sharp rise in government-subsidised education loans for 2025. The bank processed over 6,000 such loans, marking a 1.5-fold increase from the previous year. This surge reflects growing demand among young borrowers in the region.

The total value of these loans also climbed significantly. In 2025, the combined amount reached 1.2 billion rubles—1.7 times higher than in 2024. The rise suggests more students are relying on financial support for their studies.

Most applicants fell under the age of 25, making them the dominant demographic for these loans. However, no official figures have been released on how the funds were distributed across different fields of study or academic programmes during the first half of 2025.

The increase in loan applications highlights a trend of rising educational financing in Krasnodar Krai. With 6,000 loans approved and a total volume of 1.2 billion rubles, the programme has expanded its reach. Still, details on specific study areas remain unavailable for the year so far.
