Konradin School Welcomes Back Reading Mentors for New Academic Year
The new academic year at Konradin School in Kaufbeuren has begun with a familiar and welcome presence: reading mentors from the previous year have continued their work. The Mentoren Kaufbeuren program, supporting reading skills in all elementary schools, ensures one-on-one mentorship for children to boost their reading and language abilities.
Headmaster Arthur Müller has expressed gratitude to the volunteers for their commitment. Each mentor dedicates at least one hour per week to work with a single child throughout the full school year. The initiative, 'Mentor – The Reading Helpers', relies on volunteer engagement to enhance language and literacy proficiency. Students requiring extra support in language and literacy are assigned individual mentors. The goal is clear: to improve students’ academic prospects by fostering better reading skills.
