Republic's Educators to Compete in Professional Marathon in Syktyvkar from April 6–10

A weeklong marathon of professional competitions for educators across the Republic of Komi will take place from April 6 to 10 in Syktyvkar, the press service of the Komi Ministry of Education and Science reports. The opening ceremony will be held on April 6 at the Concert Hall of the Yury Spiridonov Republic of Komi Art Gymnasium.

"Five years ago, we first brought together professional competitions into a single large-scale, multi-day event," said Oleg Kholopov, acting Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Komi, at an organizing committee meeting. "Now, it has become a cherished tradition that every spring, teachers from across the republic come to Syktyvkar to showcase their best practices and observe their colleagues at work. In this surge of energy, creativity, and professional passion, every participant finds something that helps them move forward and inspire their students."

The Professional Mastery Week will bring together educators from all levels—from kindergarten teachers to school instructors and college faculty. Nearly 90 talented specialists from across the republic will take part in the competitions. Over five days in the Komi capital, regional stages of the following contests will be held: Teacher of the Year (Russia), Educator of the Year (Russia), Komi Velödyś (Best Native Language and Literature Teacher), Principal of the Year (Russia), Best School Psychologist, Special Education Teacher of the Year (Russia), and Master of the Year (for vocational education instructors).

The competitions will be hosted by Syktyvkar schools, kindergartens, technical colleges, and the Komi Republican Institute for Educational Development. The winners and prize recipients will be announced on April 10 at the National Music and Drama Theater of the Republic of Komi. Regional champions will go on to represent Komi in the national finals.

Last year, Anastasiya Panycheva, a kindergarten teacher from Vilgort's Kindergarten No. 8, won third place in the national Best Native Language and Literature Teacher competition after taking first in the regional Komi Velödyś contest.
