Kimberly High's Carson Earns National Merit Semifinalist Honors

Carson, a standout student at Kimberly High School, has been named a National Merit semifinalist. The honour recognises his high SAT score, placing him among the top 15,000 students in the United States this year. Beyond academics, he has also led in sports and student government roles.

Throughout high school, Carson has balanced rigorous coursework with leadership positions. He has taken multiple honours and dual-credit classes while earning student-of-the-year awards in several subjects. His teachers describe him as respectful, patient, and consistently thoughtful in his approach.

On the soccer field, he served as team captain—a role earned through responsibility and responsiveness to coaching. He also competed in track and basketball while remaining active in student government. As vice president of the student body, he has contributed to school initiatives alongside his academic and athletic commitments.

Looking ahead, Carson plans to attend either Utah State University or Brigham Young University-Idaho. Before starting his studies, he will serve a two-year LDS mission. His long-term goal is a career in plastic surgery.

Carson's achievements span academics, athletics, and leadership. His selection as a National Merit semifinalist reflects his dedication to learning. After his mission, he will begin university studies with a clear focus on medicine.
