Khabarovsk offers free skill upgrades for tourism and hospitality workers in 2023
Tourism and hospitality workers in Russia's Khabarovsk Territory can now access free skill upgrades in 2023. The initiative forms part of a wider national project aimed at boosting the sector's workforce capabilities. Local authorities and educational institutions have joined forces to make this training available at no cost to free people.
The free program is tied to the national Tourism and Hospitality project and the federal Tourism Workforce initiative, both launched under Russian President Vladimir Putin. Its goal is to provide practical, career-focused education for industry professionals.
The Khabarovsk Territory's Tourism Ministry, alongside the Russian State University of Tourism and Service, is designing the courses. To ensure relevance, the ministry is currently surveying workers to pinpoint the most sought-after training topics. This survey remains open until March 10.
As of March 6, 2026, no official figures have been released regarding the number of respondents or the most requested courses. The results will shape the final training offerings for the region.
The program aims to enhance the skills of local tourism and hospitality staff without financial barriers. Workers in the sector can still share their input before the survey closes. The final courses will reflect the needs identified through this feedback process.
