Kempten students gain free access to architecture textbooks through local donation
Students in Kempten will soon have better access to learning about architecture and urban planning. Local architects have donated a full set of Building Culture: A Schoolbook to each of the town's three high schools. The books, worth €1,500 in total, aim to introduce pupils to the built environment from as early as fifth grade.
The initiative was led by Kempten-based architect Jörg Heiler, along with other professionals in the field. Their donation ensures that every high school in the town now has copies of the specialised textbook. The book covers topics like architecture, civil engineering, and urban planning, making it useful for students across all year groups.
While the current donation focuses on Kempten's three high schools, it remains unclear how many more schools in the area might receive the textbook in the future. The project's organisers have not yet announced plans for further distributions.
The donated books will give students a practical way to explore careers in architecture and related fields. Each set is designed to be accessible from fifth grade upwards, broadening early exposure to the subject. The €1,500 contribution marks a direct investment in local education.
