Kazakhstan’s Rural Youth Find New Paths Through Mentorship Project
A three-month project in Kazakhstan’s Karaganda Region has helped over 2,000 rural teenagers explore new opportunities. Called Klt Yazynyasy, the initiative paired young participants with mentors from different fields. Its main aim was to show rural youth ways to grow and succeed in their own villages.
The programme offered workshops, career guidance, and hands-on experience. Thirteen mentors, chosen through online voting, worked with more than 40 participants. They selected mentees based on their motivation and willingness to learn.
The Klt Yazynyasy project wrapped up after three months, leaving a mark on its participants. Many, like Yerassyl and Ruslan, now have clearer goals and practical skills. The programme’s organisers hope its impact will encourage more rural youth to build futures in their home villages.
