Kazakhstan’s National Guard Academy Honors Top Researchers in Grand Ceremony
The National Guard Academy of Kazakhstan celebrated its top researchers at a ceremony held on December 26, 2025. The event took place at the Qyzyljar Creative Center in Petropavl, where 26 servicemembers and staff were honoured for their contributions to science, publications, and academic engagement. Awards were given across 12 categories, highlighting both individual and departmental achievements.
The ceremony opened with welcoming remarks from Ruslan Kanatkhanuly Alishev, head of the akim’s office for North Kazakhstan Region. He spoke on behalf of the regional administration, acknowledging the academy’s role in advancing research and education.
Colonel Artur Kaliakparovich Tokushev, head of the National Guard Academy, then delivered a keynote address. He stressed the importance of scientific work in officer training and its broader impact on national defence. His speech set the tone for the evening’s recognition of research excellence.
The academy has used a Point-Rating System (PRS) since 2022 to assess research performance. This system evaluates departments, academic units, and faculty based on their scientific output. The top departmental awards went to the Logistics Department in first place, followed by the Military Pedagogy and Psychology Department in second, and the General Education Disciplines Department in third.
Winners received trophies, diplomas, certificates of merit, and valuable prizes. The event was attended by academy leadership, faculty, research division representatives, and distinguished guests. Before closing, the academy expressed gratitude to the Qyzylzhar Creative Center and its leadership for supporting scientific and educational initiatives.
The ceremony highlighted the academy’s commitment to research and innovation. By recognising 26 individuals and multiple departments, the event reinforced the role of science in military education. The awards also marked the continued success of the PRS system in driving academic and scientific progress.
