Kazakhstan’s Inclusive Hackathon Empowers Students with Special Needs Across Three Nations

Semey's Higher College of IT and New Technologies recently hosted a Republican Hackathon with international participation. The event, which aimed to foster professional growth, encourage involvement in public life, and promote inclusive education, attracted students with special educational needs from Kazakhstan, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan. It featured three tracks: graphic design, web technologies, and system network administration.

The hackathon concluded with the announcement of top performers in each category. In system network administration, Nikita Kondyrev, Linara Aglyamova, and Leonid Chekushkin took home first, second, and third places respectively. Meanwhile, in web technologies, Yerlan Dauletkaliyev, Daniil Lebedev, and Yernur Sultan secured the top spots. In graphic design, Yerali Abdulla, Anel Makushinskaya, and Kirill Moskvichev won first, second, and third places respectively.

Social partners and sponsors offered internship opportunities and employment prospects to participants, highlighting the event's potential to open doors for the students' future careers. The first-place winners in each track were Assel Abdualiyeva (Graphic Design), Arman Yessimov (Web Technologies), and Aibek Duisenov (System Network Administration). Both contestants and experts commended the hackathon's high organizational standards, welcoming atmosphere, and fair judging.

The Republican Hackathon at Semey's Higher College of IT and New Technologies proved to be a successful platform for students with special educational needs to showcase their skills and gain recognition. With its international participation, diverse tracks, and promising prospects, the event not only fostered professional growth but also encouraged active participation in public life and promoted inclusive education.
