Kazakhstan Boosts Water Sector with 50% Wage Hike and Fleet Upgrades
The Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources has been actively supporting the water sector in Kazakhstan. Recent developments include a 50% wage increase for water workers and significant upgrades to the vehicle fleet across the country.
The ministry regularly implements training and professional development programs for water sector specialists. This commitment to growth was evident in a recent meeting with representatives of Almatyoblvodkhoz MSE and Kazvodkhoz RSE. The discussion focused on the construction and reconstruction of water management facilities and preparations for the 2026 growing season.
In line with this, the ministry has allocated 757 new units of equipment nationwide, with 524 units already received. This includes a variety of vehicles such as trucks, tractors, tow trucks, excavators, motorcycles, and other machinery. The Dinmukhamed Konayev Big Almaty Canal branch of Kazvodkhoz RSE, located in Almaty, received 47 vehicles. Minister Nurzhan Nurzhigitov personally handed over keys to this specialized equipment to employees of the branch.
These initiatives aim to enhance the safety and efficiency of water management operations across Kazakhstan. The 50% wage increase for water workers, coupled with the upgrading of the vehicle fleet, demonstrates the government's dedication to supporting and improving the water sector.
