KazAID Marks Five Years of Global Development Impact and $217M in Aid
The Kazakhstan Agency of International Development (KazAID) has reached its fifth anniversary. Founded on December 15, 2020, the agency serves as the country’s national operator for official development assistance (ODA). Under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it plays a central role in Kazakhstan’s efforts to support sustainable growth abroad.
KazAID was created to provide practical, results-driven technical aid to partner nations. Its work focuses on capacity building, knowledge sharing, and strengthening institutions in key sectors. Over the past five years, the agency has expanded its reach across more than 40 countries.
The organisation has delivered over $34 million in humanitarian aid since its launch. It has also secured $183 million in financing for development projects, reinforcing Kazakhstan’s position in global cooperation. Central Asia and Afghanistan remain priority regions, with targeted programmes in digitalisation, education, and healthcare. A team of experts in fields like agriculture, energy, infrastructure, and health supports KazAID’s projects. These specialists advise on development initiatives, though their individual identities are not publicly listed. The agency coordinates their efforts to ensure effective implementation in partner countries.
KazAID’s work has strengthened Kazakhstan’s influence in international development. Through technical assistance and financial mobilisation, it continues to promote inclusive and sustainable progress. The agency’s fifth anniversary marks a period of growing engagement in global aid efforts.
