Keaton Moeller, a student at Starmont High School, has won the Iowa Bankers Association's Student Athlete Achievement Award. The honour recognises his success in wrestling, academics, leadership, and community work. He also claimed the Class 1A 190-pound state wrestling title over the weekend.
The award was presented to Moeller by Kristen Arthur, Senior Vice President of Operations at Community Savings Bank. Alongside the recognition, he received a £1,000 scholarship for his chosen college.
The Iowa Bankers Association has run the Student Athlete Achievement Award program for 30 years. It celebrates student-athletes in football, basketball, and wrestling. Since its launch, the initiative has given out over £365,000 in scholarships.
Moeller was selected for his strong academic record, leadership qualities, and involvement in his community. The exact number of 2024 recipients remains unclear, as official lists have not yet been published.
His latest achievement follows his victory in the Class 1A 190-pound state wrestling championship. The title was secured in a decisive match on Saturday evening.
Moeller's award highlights his contributions both on the mat and in the classroom. The scholarship will support his future student loans, while the Iowa Bankers Association continues its long-standing tradition of rewarding student-athletes.
