Innsbruck University Launches Year-Long Mental Wellbeing Initiative for Staff

The University of Innsbruck has launched a new mental health awareness initiative for staff as part of its 2025/26 health insurance programme. Mini-workshops on mindfulness, meditation and Qigong were held across three Infinite Campus locations, organised by the personnel development department and the University Sports Institute (USI).

The workshops took place at Agnes-Heller-Haus and the Technikerstraße campus, with sessions tailored to fit employees’ work schedules. Each location was equipped with meditation gear, and participants received ‘brain food’ from Tyrolean company Verival along with mental health resources after the events.

The workshops mark the start of a year-long focus on mental wellbeing for university employees. Staff can continue accessing mental health support through USI courses and the Healthy Minds programme. Registration for additional sessions remains open through the USI’s programme portal.
