Inha University’s Landmark Dual-Degree Institute Opens in China
Inha University has officially launched the Inha Institute of Technology, a new cooperative education project with Henan Polytechnic University. The institute marks the fifth time a Korean university has gained approval for such a programme—and the only one cleared for the 2025 academic year. A ceremony attended by senior leaders from both institutions celebrated the milestone this month.
Plans for the institute began in December 2020, with Inha University securing final approval from China's Ministry of Education in September 2025. The partnership will offer three undergraduate dual-degree programmes: Biotechnology, Geoinformation Engineering, and Chemical Engineering. Students will follow Inha University's curriculum over four years and earn degrees from both universities.
The institute's launch strengthens ties between Korean and Chinese higher education. Chinese graduates will receive qualifications from both universities, while the programme expands Inha University's international presence. Officials from both sides have committed to long-term collaboration through the newly established committee.
