Indore’s Youth Festival dazzles with classical dance and vibrant art competitions

The Inter-District University Level Youth Festival kicked off on Wednesday at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The event, celebrating art, music, and youth talent, began with group and solo classical dance performances, including Kathak recitals, and was conducted by Dr. Shobha Chaturvedi.

The festival opened with a vibrant display of dance forms, setting the stage for the day's events. Fine Arts competitions, held throughout the day, included Rangoli, Poster Making, Clay Modelling, and Cartooning. The IMS DAVV Auditorium echoed with music competitions in percussion, non-percussion, and shastriyakanth sangeet.

The inaugural session was addressed by Prof. Sumant Katyal, acting vice-chancellor; Dr. R. C. Dixit, additional director of higher education; Rachna Thakur, deputy registrar; and Prof. Sandhya Vajpeyi (Retd.). The welcome address was delivered by Prof. Piyush Kendurkar, and Dr. Chandan Gupta expressed gratitude to the guests. The afternoon saw Western solo and group singing competitions, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Colleges from Indore, Dhar, and Jhabua districts participated in the festival, showcasing their artistic prowess and musical talents. The Youth Festival, organized by DAVV, provided a platform for young artists to exhibit their skills and compete with their peers.
