In 2025, 18 schools in Komi were comprehensively renovated, with kindergartens next in line
A kindergarten in Yb village, Syktyvdin District, has reopened after a major renovation. The upgrades include modern classrooms, ergonomic furniture, and new equipment designed for young learners. This project is part of a wider effort to improve educational facilities across Komi.
The recent overhaul in Yb village is just one of many school renovations taking place in the region. In 2025 alone, 18 schools in Komi received comprehensive upgrades, featuring science labs, creative studios, and dedicated relaxation spaces. Cities like Syktyvkar, Vorkuta, and Pechora have already seen improvements in their educational infrastructure.
The national projects *Youth and Children* and *Family* are funding these renovations, with Rostislav Goldstein, the head of the Republic of Komi, overseeing their implementation. Plans are already in motion for further upgrades, with 32 more schools set for renovation between 2026 and 2027. Among them are School No. 3 in Syktyvkar and School No. 7 in Vorkuta. After schools, kindergartens will be next in line for similar modernisation efforts across Komi.
The renovations aim to provide students with better learning environments. By 2027, dozens of schools will have updated facilities, ensuring improved education standards in the region. The project continues under the guidance of national funding and local leadership.
