IEAA Announces New Board Members After AIEC

The International Education Association of Australia (IEAA) has announced the results of its recent Board and network elections. The changes come following the Annual International Education Conference (AIEC) closing ceremony, led by IEAA President, Professor Ren Yi.

In the Board elections, Tom Gifford, Director of Global Student Recruitment at RMIT University, and Rishen Shekhar, Pro Vice Chancellor: International at the University of South Australia, have been re-elected. Meanwhile, Marnie Watson, Vice President Global at Griffith University, has been elected to the Board for the first time. The Board also welcomes Ashley Tanks, Director of Partnerships, Australia & New Zealand at Grok Global Services, Inc., who was elected as Deputy Convener of the Marketing and Recruitment Network, alongside Sue Ng from RMIT University.

The Board has seen some changes with the departure of Jana Perera, Executive Director of Stakeholder Engagement at Manufacturing Industry Skills Alliance, and Steve Knussen, Executive Director at Kaplan Business School. Additionally, Bronwyn Bartsch, Pro Vice Chancellor Global (acting) at Australian Catholic University, has stepped down as Treasurer after four years. Brett Lovegrove, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Global Partnerships) at The University of Queensland, has been elected as the new Treasurer.

These changes reflect the IEAA's commitment to diversity and fresh perspectives. The new Board members and network conveners will bring their unique experiences and insights to support the IEAA's mission. The IEAA looks forward to their contributions in driving the international education sector forward.
