How a Mom’s Bedtime Struggle Became a Thriving Sleep Hygiene Business
Debbie Glickman, founder of Fairytale Wishes, has built a sleep hygiene business around helping people sleep better. Her line of scented products uses fragrance to calm the mind and spark imagination. Now, she’s looking for support to grow the small business ideas further.
The idea for Fairytale Wishes came from Glickman’s own experience. Her son once struggled with bedtime fears, afraid of monsters under the bed. This inspired her to create a product that could ease anxiety and encourage restful sleep.
Each 4-ounce bottle costs $9.99 to buy but only $2.16 to make. The company has been running for four years, with its best month bringing in $5,500 in sales. Popular scents include lavender for relaxation and bubblegum for a playful touch. The product has already caught the attention of major retailers. Bed, Bath, and Beyond tested it and placed three repeat orders. Research also backs the approach, showing that scent can help calm the mind and improve sleep quality. Glickman recently pitched on Shark Tank, asking for a $35,000 investment in exchange for 33% of the my business.
Fairytale Wishes now aims to grow beyond its current success. With retail interest and scientific backing, the company hopes to reach more customers. Glickman’s next step is securing the right partner to take the small business ideas forward.
