Hesse's free Easter learning camps draw over 2,100 students this year

More than 50 schools across Hesse are running free learning camps this Easter. Over 2,100 students have enrolled to catch up on studies or prepare for exams. The initiative, funded by the Hessian Ministry of Education, aims to provide extra support during the holidays. The programme has grown steadily since its launch in 2020. To date, over 63,000 students have attended more than 1,600 camps. Schools offer targeted help in key subjects like mathematics, German, and English.

These camps focus on one-to-one support for pupils from all school types and academic levels. Education Minister Armin Schwarz highlighted the students' commitment to using their break productively. The ministry covers all costs, allowing schools to organise sessions without charging families. A similar opportunity will return during the summer holidays. The scheme remains open to any school in Hesse wishing to participate.

The Easter camps provide structured learning outside term time. With thousands of students taking part, the programme continues to expand. Schools can apply again for the summer sessions, ensuring ongoing support for pupils across the region.
