Harvard University: Trump to Bar Foreigners from Studying in U.S. - Harvard University: Implementation of Trump's Policy to Exclude Foreigners from Study Entry

In a eye-catching move, U.S. President Donald Trump plans to block overseas students eager to study at the renowned academic institution, Harvard University. This unexpected ban will reportedly last for six months initially, as announced by Trump himself. The restrictions will particularly target foreign nationals seeking to enter the U.S. to attend Harvard or participate in its exchange programs.

The United States Department of State will reportedly review and potentially rescind the visas of those already enrolled at the university. However, exemptions will be made for individuals whose entry, according to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, is considered in the national interest.

Trump's Incitement against Harvard

Trump justified his decision by accusing Harvard of jeopardizing U.S. national security through its lack of transparency. He believes that academic institutions, including Harvard, should disclose information on foreign students and researchers to prevent misconduct. Until the university complies with these demands, Trump considers it necessary to deny foreign nationals access to Harvard.

Trump's attempts to curb Harvard's access to overseas students have been publicly disclosed. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced similar measures over two weeks ago. If successful, the university may no longer be able to welcome new international students under a specific federal program.

Nevertheless, a federal judge, Allison Burroughs, currently prevents the U.S. government from barring Harvard from accepting foreign students. This ruling is not yet final.

The U.S. government accuses universities like Harvard of fostering a left-leaning environment and not taking sufficient action against anti-Semitism. Unlike other universities, Harvard has refused to yield to political directives from the White House and has initiated legal action in response[1].
