Gulf Medical University unveils UAE's largest clinical simulation hub in Ajman

Gulf Medical University has launched the Thumbay Institute of Clinical Simulation at its Ajman campus. The new facility forms part of the UAE's largest network of healthcare training centres. It will serve students, medical residents, and practicing clinicians with cutting-edge simulation technology. The institute provides a high-fidelity learning space where trainees can practice real-world care in a risk-free setting. Inside, advanced manikins, task trainers, and simulated wards recreate clinical environments. Sessions are digitally recorded for structured debriefing and skill refinement.

The centre supports a wide range of training, from team-based drills to crisis resource management. It also hosts Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) and procedure-based workshops. These programs cover medicine, nursing, and allied health disciplines. With this opening, GMU and the Thumbay academic health system now operate six simulation facilities across the UAE. Two more centres are planned, expanding what is already the country's largest integrated network. The goal is to standardise skills training and improve patient safety standards regionally. Beyond academic courses, the institute will offer continuous professional development and certification programs. Partnerships with international bodies will further enhance its training offerings.

The Thumbay Institute of Clinical Simulation strengthens GMU's role in healthcare education. It equips future and current clinicians with hands-on experience in realistic settings. The facility's expansion plans will broaden access to high-quality training across the UAE.
