The Positive Tipping Points Toolkit, curated by the Green Futures Network at the University of Exeter, is a valuable resource designed to support transformational change at all levels. This comprehensive toolkit offers a Map, Tools, and an Approach to help navigate systemic change, making working with complex systems more accessible, rewarding, and collaborative.

At the heart of the toolkit lies the concept of a tipping point, a moment when a change in a system becomes self-reinforcing, building momentum towards widespread, often irreversible impacts. Characteristics of a tipping point include a movement from one system state to another, positive feedback, non-linearity, and irreversibility.

The Approach is rooted in care, intention, and awareness, holding space for the emergence of new ideas and possibilities. It supports intention, agency, and desired outcomes for positive change.

The Tools section provides a collection of activities and interventions that support the journey of understanding complex system change. From mapping and making sense of complex systems to implementing strategies for change, the tools offer a practical guide for those seeking to effect positive change.

The Map, on the other hand, serves as a way of visualising and making sense of complex systems. It offers a theory of change to work with and share.

Examples of social systems which can be tipped include a shift to a more accessible and fair housing system, a town or city becoming more resilient to climate change, and a collective move towards eating more plant-based meals.

For grassroots groups, a related resource is the Movement Power: A Toolkit for Building People Power in a Time of Crisis. This toolkit supports intention, agency, and desired outcomes for positive change.

The Positive Tipping Points Toolkit can be accessed at the Positive Tipping Points Toolkit website. The toolkit is based on the latest academic research and is divided into 5 sections for easy navigation.

In addition to the toolkit, related resources such as books, TED talks, and curriculum tools for a just transition are also provided. One such resource is a TED talk by Michelle Deshong titled "Black women - Tipping the balance | Michelle Deshong | TEDxJCUCairns".

What's more, the Positive Tipping Points Community of Practice is open for anyone interested in using the Toolkit to share ideas, challenges, stories, and support as part of a peer-learning space.

Remember, the tipping point is not the end of the story, but marks a shift where the change becomes self-perpetuating. Share these resources on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Email to help spread the word about the Positive Tipping Points Toolkit and support transformational change.
