Jeanette Hernandez Prenger to Deliver Keynote Address at Park University Commencement

Jeanette Hernandez Prenger, a distinguished alumna of Park University, will be delivering the keynote address at the Kansas City Area Commencement on May 10, 2025. Prenger, who is the founder and CEO of ECCO Select, a renowned talent acquisition and consulting firm, will be receiving an honorary Doctorate of Human Letters degree during the ceremony.

Prenger's achievements in entrepreneurship, community service, and economic growth have earned her numerous accolades. Beyond her business successes, she is a passionate advocate for these areas, contributing significantly to the information technology industry, philanthropic endeavors, and growth.

In addition to her business endeavours, Prenger serves on numerous national and regional boards, including The Latino Coalition, Junior Achievement USA, Boy Scouts of America (now known as Scouting America), the Harvard Kennedy School's Taubman Institute, Eisenhower Foundation, and the Missouri Tourism Commission.

A total of 575 Park University students are eligible to participate in the ceremony, with 372 scheduled to receive a bachelor's degree, associate degree, and/or undergraduate certificate, and 203 expected to receive a master's degree and/or graduate certificate. The commencement ceremony will take place at Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence, Mo., starting at 10 a.m.

Prenger's nomination letter to Park's Faculty Senate stated that she exemplifies the university's core values of leadership, integrity, and service. The honorary degree being given to Prenger is in recognition of her outstanding service to humans and society.

Prenger served on Park University's Board of Trustees from 2011 to 2023, including two years as chair and two years as immediate past chair. Her dedication to Park University and her commitment to fostering the next generation of leaders make her an inspiring figure for the graduating students.
