A major new industrial hub is taking shape in Taylor, Texas, with the launch of the Gradiant Technology Park (GTP). The 212-acre site aims to become a key convergence point for semiconductor, battery, data centre, and AI industries. Backed by Korea’s Gradiant Group and iMarketAmerica, the project marks a significant step in the region’s economic development.

The groundbreaking ceremony for GTP drew attention from local and international stakeholders. Williamson County Judge Steven Snell highlighted the importance of Gradiant’s investment, noting it would deepen ties with Korea—a country with over 300 companies already operating in Texas. Samsung, a major player in the tech sector, sent its procurement team to the event, signalling potential future partnerships with park tenants.

Kihyung Lee, chairman of Gradiant Group, played a pivotal role in establishing the park. Inspired by Taylor Swift’s expansion in the area, he instructed his team to acquire land in Taylor, much like Jeff Bezos’ strategic moves in business. The park is positioned near Samsung’s semiconductor plant, creating opportunities for collaboration.

iMarketAmerica CEO Charles Kim described the groundbreaking as a shift from planning to action. The first phase will focus on infrastructure development and the construction of two initial facilities. The project also aims to support local talent, attract smaller businesses, and foster cooperative growth models in Taylor and Williamson County.

GTP is designed to serve as a future ecosystem for advanced industries, aligning with Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s vision of a ‘Bigger. Better. Texas.’ With strong backing from Korean and American firms, the park is set to boost regional innovation and economic ties. Construction and partnerships will shape its role in the coming years.
